Grateful for time spent in nature where the silence that closes in on you engulfs you in yourself and the absence of cell phone service makes you cognizant of the fact that it’s just a tool, not something that owns you or requires anything of you. I don’t know why it feel like such a treat to go outdoors and something so significant that it warrants being a differentiator – “enjoys hiking”, “outdoorsy”, “nature lover”. Isn’t that what we always were? Isn’t that where we can always find our grounding? Isn’t it our very essence, connecting our true inside with the real outside, our bodies with the world we were born from?
